Optical
illusion: a coin dissapears under the transparent glass
The magic trick
The magician will show the audience how to make a coin disappear
below the regular transparent drinking glass. The audience will
see the magician cover the coin with the glass. After that is done,
the coin suddenly disappears.
How to perform this trick
The magician will need to show the coin to the audience
and then place it on the piece of cardboard. The glass is already
placed on the cardboard before the trick is shown. Then the magician
covers the drinking glass with a piece of cloth and moves it slowly
until the glass in over the coin. When the piece of cloth is removed,
the audience realizes that the coin disappeared.
The secret
The trick is to cut out a round piece of cardboard of the same color
as the one placed on the table and with the diameter of the top
of the glass and glue it to the top of the glass. This way, when
the glass is placed over the coin, the cardboard covers the coin
and nobody can see it. It is important to cover the glass with the
cloth so the audience does not see the glued piece of cardboard
when the glass is moved.
