Remarkable
magic: a very long pencil is removed from a small matchbox
The magic trick
The magician shows the audience that he can take out a very long pencil
from a very small box of matches. The audience will see how the magician
slowly opens the box halfway and starts to slowly remove the pencil
from it.
How to perform this trick
The magician needs to keep one end of the box very close to his
sleeve. Then he opens the box halfway and demonstrated the audience
the top part of the pencil inside the box. After the pencil is slowly
removed from the box, the magician demonstrates both the front of
the box and the pencil to the audience so they can see that the
pencil is a lot longer then the box.
The secret
The trick is to cut one end of the box and place a pencil in the
box in such a way that the top part of the pencil is inside the
box and the rest is outside. The outside part of the pencil is then
hidden in the sleeve. Since the magician keeps one end of the box
right next to his sleeve, the audience will not see the hidden part
of the pencil.
